The Photography students were assigned to interview one of the AP Photography student’s pieces. Here’s how I answered Gabby’s questions:
What was the inspiration for this work of art?
Honestly, this piece was more of spontaneous as opposed planned out. The exciting day I was having prior to snapping the photograph is what inspired me to capture the moment.
Describe the colors and materials you used to make this work of art?
As with most of my other work, a DSLR camera was used as a medium for this piece. Although this photograph is edited as monochrome, different hues of sepia were used instead of the usual blacks and whites.
What do you want to express with this art?
With this particular photograph, I wanted to capture the spontaneity of the photograph and youthfulness of the model. Hopefully this interpretation conveys itself to the viewer!
What des this art represent to you?
Personally, much like I mentioned in the previous question, this photograph represents both spontaneity and youth.
What significance do the colors have in this work of art?
By utilizing a monochromatic scheme within a photograph, I feel that the viewer focuses much more upon the subject’s facial expression and other visual elements of the photograph.
